Evaluation Period:
The first 3 months with Na Eirigh Greine are the evaluation period. At any time
within these three months, we reserve the right to discontinue training. We
will of course explain these reasons to you and when possible, we will refer
you to another group with the hope that they are a better match for you. We
cannot possibly train every seeker out there, and it would be ludicrous to think
that we could. Sometimes, it's something as simple as the fact that not everyone
gets along with everyone else. It seems trivial, but a Coven is like a family,
and we need to all feel comfortable and secure with one another. Some students
will be considered for Dedication sooner, some later. This depends on the person
and how things are progressing.
When the evaluation period is over, you must decide to become a Dedicant of
Na Eirigh Greine or to go on with your training elsewhere. Our goal is to train
people to be competent witches. We cannot attain that goal if we have 5 pre-dedicants
in circle. If you're not willing to move forward in your path, you're simply
wasting your time, as well as ours.
Dedication and Beyond:
When you are a new student (Dedicant) of Na Eirigh Greine and of course
also later on!!!!! (so maybe have a reminding look at this page every now and
then:) you will be expected to:
Make a commitment to study with Na Eirigh Greine and take that commitment seriously.
As we make the commitment to take the time to train you, so must you make the commitment to take the time to be trained. Should you decide Wicca is not for you, then of course, you are always free to go. This path is based on your own free will, not ours. However, if you, by your own free will, decide you want to work with a Coven, then you also agree to commit to the Curricula that your chosen Coven implies. Should you decide at any time that you cannot honor this commitment, then you are free to, and should leave the Coven.
Attend the Sabbats, and the Full and New Moons as scheduled.
Attendance of the Sabbats and Esbats is not only required for your training, but is the way in which we honor the Gods. If you are not willing or able to make the time to honor the Gods in the Traditional fashion, then you should not be considering British Traditional Wicca as your path.Complete any required assignments on time.
As we respect you enough to take the time to create the assignments in order to help you learn, you should respect us enough to actually complete them. This includes required reading and essays. Also we expect you to complete your written assignments in english. If you can´t be bothered to do so you should not be considering British Traditional Wicca as your path either.Be accountable for your own choices and actions.
It is your responsibility to explain to your family and friends (when/if necessary, such as explaining to your significant other what it is you are doing and why) why you want to be Wiccan and in a Coven. It is not our job to educate your family members or friends on your choice of Religion or worship. Our job is to educate you. To help you with this, I suggest the book "The Truth About Witchcraft Today" by Scott Cunningham.Work diligently towards your Initiation.
In Wicca, you must carry your own weight. You must do your assignments without prodding by us, and finally, when you have completed the requirements for First Degree, you may ask us for Initiation. This is your path. We are merely your guides along it.
If you cannot commit to the above requirements, then this Coven is "not" for you.
